Bartt G. Thompson is a Shareholder of the Houston, Texas law firm of Pagel, Davis & Hill (“PDH”), a Professional Corporation. He is an accomplished business lawyer who combines his legal acumen as a trial lawyer and his over 30 years working with and advising businesses. He has a solid understanding of what is required to form, manage, and operate a successful business.
He understands and incorporates a value-added approach to his practice of law. He has worked with many companies and in many industries including construction, energy, restaurant, food manufacturing and distribution, retail, service-provider, collections, and non-profits to help build the company from the ground up or from the middle to the top. He has helped business owners with the day-to-day internal issues such as hiring and terminating employees, non-disclosure agreements, covenants not to compete, intellectual property agreements, contracts with vendors, contracts with customers, sales agreements, corporate minutes, transfers of stock and other ownership interests, and franchise tax matters. This work is aimed with an eye toward possible future litigation; you may not want to go to court but your lawyer must know the aspects of each of your business dealings whether it is a contract, formation of a business or buying a piece of real estate and how to structure each transaction so as to help increase your chances of winning in court. Mr. Thompson also handles estate planning matters as well as wills and probate because of his long-term and close working relationships with all aspects of these companies and with the business owners and principals of the companies he represents.
